Manish said, "Vibhu and my team had a lot of discussions about the cast. We fixated on Vijay as he is an intense actor. He has the height, look and an old world charm. Then we thought of Fatima. She is beautiful. I sent the script to her and she agreed to do the film. They were our first choices. We wanted an unusual pair. You don't expect to see Vijay in a romantic look." Vijay and Fatima shared how the sets were filled with laughter and opened up about their camaraderie.
